The Posthumous Aural
The Posthumous Aural is an installation and performance that explores the link between the transformation of human remains and the economy of death through aural space. The vibrations of non-living matter occupy a conjectural space of mourning, signalled by the absence of language. Revisiting the figure of the Spanish plaƱidera, The Posthumous Aural is a sonic act of inquiry into the material and cultural representations of the body-object, as well as the necropolitical and spatial consequences of its accelerated conversion into a commodity.
